## How it works

1. **Link your customer's Navan SCIM account.** Use Truto's frontend SDK; we handle every OAuth and API key flow so you don't need to create the OAuth app.
2. **Authentication is automatic.** Truto refreshes tokens, stores credentials securely, and injects them into every API request.
3. **Call Truto's API to reach Navan SCIM.** The Proxy API is a 1-to-1 mapping of the Navan SCIM API.

The current integration exposes Navan users via two operations: listing all users and fetching a single user by ID. Both are also accessible through Truto's Unified User Directory API for a normalized schema.

### Can I write back to Navan (create, update, or deactivate users)?

The integration is currently read-only, supporting user list and user detail retrieval. If you need write operations, reach out and we can prioritize adding them.

### How is pagination handled when listing users?

Truto abstracts Navan SCIM's pagination behind a consistent cursor interface, so you can iterate the full directory without writing provider-specific paging logic.

### How fresh is the user data?

Data is retrieved live from Navan on each request. You can also configure scheduled syncs in Truto to periodically refresh a cached copy of the directory in your systems.

### Do I need to normalize fields across identity providers myself?

No. Using the Unified User Directory API, Navan user fields are mapped to a common schema alongside other providers, so you can build one code path that works across all connected directories.
