## How it works

1. **Link your customer's Cloudbeds account.** Use Truto's frontend SDK; we handle every OAuth and API key flow so you don't need to create the OAuth app.
2. **Authentication is automatic.** Truto refreshes tokens, stores credentials securely, and injects them into every API request.
3. **Call Truto's API to reach Cloudbeds.** The Proxy API is a 1-to-1 mapping of the Cloudbeds API.
4. **Get a unified response format.** Every response uses a single shape, with cursor-based pagination and data in the `result` field.

## Use cases

- **Embed Cloudbeds sync in your POS or F&B platform** — Restaurant, bar, and retail POS vendors can let hoteliers charge tabs directly to guest folios in Cloudbeds, eliminating manual re-entry at the front desk and stopping revenue leakage between systems.
- **Power automated revenue and rate optimization** — Revenue management and pricing SaaS can ingest live reservation, occupancy, and rate plan data from Cloudbeds and push optimized rates back via rate and rate plan endpoints, giving hoteliers dynamic pricing without a custom integration project.
- **Ship a guest engagement and upsell layer** — Guest communication and upsell platforms can trigger on new reservations via webhooks, post custom items and charges to folios, and write reservation notes so front-desk staff can fulfill purchases like late check-outs, transfers, or upgrades.
- **Automate hotel accounting and fiscal reconciliation** — Accounting middleware and ERP connectors can map Cloudbeds transaction codes to custom GL codes, pull trial balances, AR ledgers, and fiscal documents, and sync balanced journal entries into Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite nightly.
- **Deliver contactless check-in and smart access** — Digital key and IoT lock vendors can drive the full mobile check-in flow — capturing guest documents, posting check-in, and issuing doorlock keys — so guests bypass the front desk entirely.

## What you can build

- **Folio charge posting from external POS** — Push F&B checks, custom items, and gratuities directly onto guest or group folios using folio check, custom item, and gratuity endpoints.
- **Two-way rate and availability sync** — Pull rate plans, allotment blocks, and room availability, then push updated rates and inventory back to Cloudbeds for automated pricing decisions.
- **Reservation-driven guest workflows** — Subscribe to Cloudbeds webhooks for new and modified reservations to trigger pre-arrival emails, upsells, ID capture, and internal reservation notes.
- **Nightly financial close automation** — Query transactions, trial balance reports, AR ledgers, and deposit balances to generate journal entries and reconcile against custom GL code mappings.
- **Fiscal document and invoice sync** — Retrieve country-compliant invoices, credit notes, receipts, and their allocations from the fiscalization endpoints and mirror them into finance or archival systems.
- **Mobile check-in with digital key issuance** — Combine guest document uploads, room check-in, and doorlock key creation to deliver a fully contactless arrival flow inside your app.

## FAQs

### How does authentication with Cloudbeds work through Truto?

Cloudbeds uses OAuth 2.0. Truto handles the full OAuth flow — token exchange, storage, and refresh — so your end users connect their Cloudbeds account with a standard consent screen and you never touch credentials.

### Can we react to changes in Cloudbeds in real time?

Yes. Cloudbeds supports webhooks, and you can register and manage subscriptions programmatically via the webhook endpoints to receive events like new reservations, modifications, and check-ins instead of polling.

### Does the integration support multi-property hotel groups?

Yes. Cloudbeds exposes hotel, property, and sub-property endpoints, and most resources are scoped by property, so you can support hotel groups and chains with property-level operations from a single connected account.

### Can we post charges and payments to a guest's folio?

Yes. You can post items, custom items, adjustments, payments, and charges, as well as create and update folios, move and route transactions between folios, and apply autorouting rules via the folios rules endpoints.

### Does the API expose custom fields and tags?

Yes. Cloudbeds supports custom fields on core objects, profile custom fields, attribute tagging, and custom Cloudbeds Data Fields (CDFs) in reports, all of which are accessible through their respective endpoints.

### How do we handle large data exports without hitting pagination limits?

Cloudbeds provides asynchronous export endpoints for reports and stock reports (including bulk export async), which are the recommended path for pulling large datasets, trial balances, or historical transactions.

### Is country-specific fiscal compliance supported?

Yes. Cloudbeds has a dedicated fiscalization suite covering invoices, credit notes, rectifying invoices, receipts, pro forma invoices, allocations, and provider-specific connections, credentials, and routing for markets that require government fiscal reporting.
